May 21 More to come!I know it's been a while since my last update; however, I will have more photos and stories to share when I return from my Memorial weekend vacation with my Delta Gamma sisters. See you soon! April 02 R.I.P. LuLuI had to put my sweet little LuLu to sleep yesterday. She was my little adopted kitty from Virginia Beach. She was my little trouper, but at 19 years old, her little body just couldn't keep up & finally began to shut down.
I'll always remember: * Her little pink sweater * The day I left her unattended for like 2 seconds in the front yard & came back to find her gone! She had sprinted like 50 feet towards the neighbor's back yard. She loved to go outside. * Two days ago when she peed on my most expensive text book - Organic Chemistry! * The day she used Jon's leg as a ladder to pull herself onto the couch * The way she would wake me up at 5 in the morning because she was hungry (she was my 3.7 lb piggy) * Sleeping in the litterbox * The way that she would let my 100-lb dog Bonnie sit on her * Even though she was blind, she could hear me walking around the house & would dash towards the noise of my feet to trip me. * She would sit between my legs when I washed the dishes * Giving her a bath * How pissed off she was that I left her at my mom's house while I was in Utah. * I loved how she could sit next to a door with her head facing it for like 20 minutes & then get up and walk right into it because she forgot it was there :) Ahh! She was a sweet & loving kitty. I miss her so much. She will be laid to rest at my mom's house in Walton this Saturday. July 31 The ReturnOh my goodness! I have just returned from an amazing trip to Virginia Beach with my honey. We had so much fun body surfing, walking up the strip, riding the WAVE, & tasting the local flavor. It was an awesome trip. I've never had so much fun at the beach...and I used to live there!
After we left, we traveled to the naval base to see a lighthouse. We climbed all the way to the top (which was a fete in itself). But it was well worth it and quite an experience. It was our first lighthouse.
On the way back we stopped in Williamsburg to pick up my new kitty. She is 18 years old & her name is Lea Lu, but I'm calling her LuLu & Jon is calling her Kitty. She's quite the gem & very adorable.
However, I'm exhausted & must get a little more sleep. G'nite! June 18 Father's Day 2006Very exciting stuff is going on. First, it's Fathers Day and even though I'm a bastard child, I will be spending the day with my grandpa & maybe mom. This past Friday, Bonnie was shaved down to look like a poodle, but she's much cooler now (and even rumoured to be cuter too). Either way, she seems a lot happier with the new 'do.
I've been trying to put in more hours at NKU this summer. I figure it's a better alternative to getting sucked into weekends at Papa Johns. I mean, it's about time that I act like a college student & start enjoying my weekends. I've been working weekends my whole life (since I was 16 anyway) and I'm sick of it!
Last night I went with Jon, his parents, and his little cousin Sami to a drive in theatre in Ohio. The feature presentation was "Cars" and "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown". Both movies were really funny, but I think I liked Cars better. It was a pretty nice theatre & of course, we snuck our own snacks in because we're rebels.
Last weekend Jon & I went to his moms corporate picnic which was at Coney Island. That was a fun time. We rode all the good rides, went on the paddle boats, lost at Bingo, and had an excellent picnic lunch.
The next day, I picked up Jimmy & Boogie, took them shopping at Target for swim suits & flip-flops, and then for dinner & games at Chuck E. Cheeses. They had a lot of fun. Afterwards, we took Bonnie for a walk at Tower Park so we could play. We ended the night with baths, a movie, and turtle cookies. I had a lot of fun. It's just too bad that the YMCA was closed because I had wanted to take them swimming.
*And hello! Did I forget to mention that I spent my 25th Birthday in Naples, Florida relaxing by the pool & at the beaches? It was amazing. Also, mom sent flowers to the mansion & when I got home, Jon had sent Sunflowers to my apartment. I had a great time in Florida, but I'm always glad when I get home.
I got some really quality gifts from Jon, Grandpa, & mom, but I also got a gift card from Aunt Carol & Uncle Kent which I used to buy an amazing fan that cools my entire apartment. I'm really happy about that. Bonnie is too.
Love, Me May 15 Margarita MayMargarita May was a blast! Pictures are posted under April/May/June 2006. I'm going to have to separate the months a little more because I'm packing too much fun into each album (Can there be too much of a good thing?). Jess & I bought margarita mix & some Jose Cuervo. There were coolers, beer, chili cheese dip, & confusing card games. I of course, was accompanied by good friends & my amazing boyfriend, Jon. The party started at 9pm and kept going until about 3. Thankfully, I only had to stumble down the stairs to get to my own comfy bed. Living in the same building as the party really can't be beat. All I can say is, "Life is great!" I love you all!
April 28 Finals WeekGood God! It's that time of year again...Finals! Luckily, I only have one class left & all I need to do is turn in my 8 page Shakespeare paper that has yet to be written. It wouldn't be so bad if I could just have a 27 hour day or an 8 day week. There's just not enough time to accomplish everything that I need to do, but I guess that's normal.
ANYway, I'm looking forward to summer. I'm not sure exactly what's going on. It's weird not having everything planned down to the last breath, but I'll just see where the wind takes me for once. I will be doing the usual NKU Orientation stuff & I am leaving town at least a couple times. In 2 weeks I will be heading to Cleveland with Jon to see the Fallout Boy concert. We're also going to Buffalo, NY (eek!) to attend his cousin's wedding. So, Yay! I get to dress up.
Also, on my list of things piling up: I am literally, cleaning out my closets & I will be going on a summer shopping spree for cute shirts. All are encouraged to contribute to my shop-a-holics fund.
Well, I must walk that 90 lb. puppy-love of mine before she gnaws my leg off. I love you all!
Jessi March 18 Spring Break 2006So being the wild and crazy kid that I am...I stayed in good 'ole nky for Spring Break. But, I did accomplish quit a bit. I spent over 20 hours on local ambulances as an EMT observer. I had some pretty exciting runs and saved some babies. My two favorite experiences included an auto collision where I had the opportunity to use the KED to strap a victim onto a long-board and secure his head with a neck collar and cushions & taking a baby girl to Children's Hospital after suffering from a seizure.
I also spent lots of time with Grandpa and studying for the MCAT. I also had ample time for running laps at school and for taking Bonnie for hour-long walks. Ahh, the college life. Well, I've been back to the grind for a week now. My accelerated finance class has ended (I got an A) and all that's left is the EMT class and Shakespeare. I'm aiming for a 4.0 this semester.
As far as Delta Gamma goes, tomorrow is our elegant Anchorball. I have my date, JonZ, my handsome boyfriend & I have my dress (which is hot pink!). I'll be taking pictures with the new digital camera and uploading them ASAP. Love you all!
Jessi March 01 More PicsSo I added a few more pictures to the 2006 album. There are a couple from the February Fiesta (with more to come), one of Grandpa, and my snowpuppy (who actually resembles a snow shovel whenever it snows because she's always scooping the snow up with her mouth). Enjoy! **If you look carefully, I have added my first "couple" picture...Very Exciting Stuff! XOXO, Jess February 02 Bowling For BabiesOnce again, for the 3rd year in a row, I am getting a group together to go Bowling for Babies. It's a philanthopic event that benefits the March of Dimes, BUT BEST OF ALL...It's a chance to go old school at my old bowling alley. It's very nostalgic for me
FYI:
It's Sunday February 19th from 5:30-7:30pm at The Erlanger Super Bowl. $10 per person includes shoe rental. Not a bad price for 2 hours of fun.
So, last year I brought 10 people, but if I could get a group of 4 this year, I would be so happy! Also, if you don't like bowling, you can eat Nachos & laugh at me. Did I mention their nachos are the bomb-diggity?!
XOXO, Love Me
January 30 Blogs?I'm not really sure what a blog is, so don't expect anything special to be here...
Oh, wait! I know... My neighbors and I are having a February Fiesta party on the 18th. It starts at 10pm. I will be providing the "fiesta-style" food & Nickoson will provide the games. BYOB. Call me for details (only if you're my friend...no strangers from the internet please)!
XOXO, me |
